She is an actress. He is
a fitness trainer.
She was working for Disney in Orlando, FL. He
was here managing his gym in Stow, OH.
When Marissa and Jason met, their worlds couldn't have been more
different.
Jason was Marissa's mother's trainer. And, no, she didn't fix them
up, LOL! The relationship blossomed much more organically than that.
One day, while visiting home, Marissa and her mother went in for a
quick workout...the two met, became friends, drove across country together
and (according to Facebook) were "In a relationship."
"There may be something there that wasn't there before."
This quote from Disney's Beauty and the Beast seems fitting to
describe Marissa and Jason's relationship...one day their friendship became so
much more!
Jason is a songwriter and had dreamt of becoming a famous rock
star. Throughout the course of their courtship, Jason would jam on his
guitar and write rock love ballads for Marissa. He wrote her more than 60
songs. He knew one day the well would run dry, and eventually he'd run out of
lyrics to write. He warned her and told her not to feel bad - that it was
no reflection of his love for her. When the flood of songs began to
dry up, she couldn't help herself...she did feel sad :-(
The holidays are always a great time for family to come together, cook, eat and celebrate. This Thanksgiving dinner was going to be a very special one. Marissa was in charge of preparing the meal for the first time. While sitting in the kitchen peeling potatoes, Jason swaggered in playing his guitar and singing a new song for her, with an unnoticed little box resting on his guitar. Marissa was frozen, speechless and wondered when would be the appropriate time to put down the potato and peeler :-)
Of course, she said "yes," and the rest, as they say, is
history!
Into the woods we go...
Jason affectionately referred to Marissa as his
Christmas gift in 2009. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones we don't expect
;)
I love that it looks like Jason is sweeping Marissa off her feet
in these shots!
Because Marissa and Jason met through Marissa's mom, it seemed fitting
to shoot their engagement session at her place. The property was a beautiful
spot for their photos!
Jason's mom is a florist and event planner at Savoir-Faire Event
Planning. She put together the flowers for their engagement session
and will be doing the flowers for their wedding as well. The flowers
she put together for this session were amazing - I cannot wait to see how
beautiful their wedding will be!
